Bonjour Reader, Did you know that today is National Croissant Day 🥐? And, contrary to popular belief, the French didn't invent the croissant, it actually originated from a different country in the 17th century. My husband says I'm full of useless information, I prefer to think of it as being the font of all interesting facts in France. I'll leave you to make your own mind up. Anyway, I've written a fun article all about the croissant, where it originated from, the war that started it all and why, in France, we have both curved and straight croissants. It's a fun read and you never know when the question of where the croissant came from might come up in a quiz. The other thing I wanted to tell you is that Get Your Guide, the platform I use to book a lot of the tours I do when I'm travelling, is having a 40% discount sale for Valentines. The sale is on now so it's the perfect time to book a cruise down the River Seine, a walking tour of Carcassonne or perhaps a wine tasting tour in Bordeaux. It also covers other places as well, not just France, and it might save you a few pennies so it's worth checking out. Here's the link that unlocks the 40% off >>> And don't forget to give my latest blog post about croissants a read.

But, like the rest of France, I'm back with a vengeance. It’s the period in France they call La Rentrée, which means "the return" in French. It marks the end of the summer holidays and the start of the new school year. It happens in early September, with the exact date varying each year. You may not know this, but France...
